CatalogClarity AI

Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 23, 2026

CatalogClarity AI helps Shopify merchants audit product catalog readiness and create merchant-reviewed AI repair drafts. This policy explains what data the app processes and how it is used.

Data We Process

The app processes Shopify store and product catalog data required to operate the service, including product titles, handles, descriptions, SEO fields, tags, vendor, product type, product media references, variant prices, inventory availability, market availability signals, and store policy completeness signals.

The app does not require customer data or order data for its core catalog audit and draft generation workflow.

How We Use Data

We use catalog data to generate readiness scores, identify product data gaps, show prioritized audit results, create repair drafts, maintain rollback snapshots, record AI usage, and support billing and operational diagnostics.

AI Provider Disclosure

When a merchant requests an AI repair draft or AI image optimization, selected product data and audit context are sent to Alibaba Cloud Model Studio / DashScope. DashScope is used to generate suggestions that merchants can review before applying changes to Shopify.

The app does not automatically overwrite Shopify product content. Merchants must review and approve changes before write-back.

Data Retention and Deletion

The app stores product snapshots, audit results, repair drafts, rollback snapshots, AI usage logs, webhook event logs, billing state, and scan jobs for app operation. When a store uninstalls the app, active sessions are deleted and the shop is marked uninstalled.

Shopify privacy webhooks are supported for customer data requests, customer redaction, and shop redaction.

Security

Shopify access tokens are stored using encrypted session storage. Production deployments use HTTPS, a PostgreSQL database, and a dedicated token encryption key.
